The Gratitude Gala was born from loss, reflection, and a desire to close each year with intention.
After losing my son, Ashton, I was reminded that life does not always unfold the way we expect. Through that journey, I learned that gratitude can coexist with grief, and that even in our most challenging seasons, we can find reasons to give thanks.
For me, gratitude became a choice.
A choice to honor the lives that have shaped us.
A choice to turn our experiences into opportunities for others.
I created the Gratitude Gala to make space for that reflection, to acknowledge what we have endured while celebrating the people, partnerships, and moments that remind us of the good that still exists.
Each year, we gather to celebrate our community, honor leaders whose service is making a difference, and recognize the collective work that helps our community move forward.
This evening is more than a celebration. It is a reminder that gratitude becomes most powerful when it moves us to action.
Through Sunshine Community Development, we carry that purpose forward by empowering individuals, strengthening families, and creating opportunities that leave a lasting impact.
